Lyrics

Timmy said,
“How are you gonna do that with your heart and your back all attached
To your soul and your spine?
How are you gonna betray laws of physics today?
I must say, you’ve had way too much wine”

Today I sailed a way
A little riddle ripped a rhythm right on through this hole to you
Today I made away
To another planet, another universe just to share this dream with you

Timmy said, “All you did was drink up. You just sipped from your cup. Now shut up.
All your stories are boring!
How are we gonna get home now we’re stranded and alone, and I’m cold.
You can sit on that wine and rotate."

I sailed a way
A little riddle ripped a rhythm right on
Through this hole to you
Today I made away
To another planet, another universe
Just to share this dream with you

I'm making a world with a finer rhythm and better rhyme
With measures of treasure and towers of twisted time

Starlight blackens the sky
Lightning blinding my eyes
Mountains tremble and sway
To see you stranded this way

Recording Notes

Captured the thunder through my window in Athens GA. Recording quality could be better, but the song is fun so I think it is still worth sharing until I can do it justice. Nostalgia dictates this is archival worthy.

I played this song live one time. Drove all the way to Atlanta for an open mic competition. They forced me to use a guitar they provided, and mid-song a string broke. I did not advance.

I still love the song though. I think it is high on the list of songs that I've written in terms of how fun it is to feel it when performing it.
