This watercolor painting of the Bass Harbor Head Light Station was made in Georgia, recently, from a reference photo I took many years ago while visiting my father.

This piece features two different types of watercolor. For the majority of the painting, I worked with Daniel Smith tube paints. Toward the end I got bold and risked it all by introducing some Japanesque pan watercolors I read about online. All the pan colors in that set are some variation of black, so there is Reddish Black, Yellowish Black, etc... These were used in the foreground, so the tree branches and the little dark bits in the grass.

I like how it all came out. This is probably my favorite watercolor I have made so far.
